Four Taiwanese Publishers Want Government to Ban Access to Foreign Piracy Sites

Four Taiwanese publishing companies have urged the government to change the Copyright Act and Telecommunications Act, so that there will be a possibility to ban access to foreign sites that provide pirated content.

 

The companies who took this initiative are:

 

 

  • Magazine Business Association of Taipei;
  • Taiwan Digital Publishing Forum;
  • Chinese Animation & Comic Publishers Association;
  • Taipei Publishers Association.

Ho Fei-peng, chairman of the Taiwan Digital Publishing Forum pointed out “the current era of digital convergence” where content of all cultural and creative products, whether novels or comics, are accessible online, using cloud technology.
